The dream of an education foundation to support teaching and learning excellence in Everman ISD has been a part of this district’s quest for many years. Everman community partners have also supported this dream with individual scholarships and ongoing tuition support through the years. Their help kept the dream alive.

Through the unparalleled support of Alcon Labs, Inc. of Fort Worth, Texas, (now a division of Novartis), a funding source was identified in 2005. Those funds were immediately dedicated to a permanent financial base that would provide ongoing scholarships from investment earnings. The initial goal for this financial base was $100,000.

With the approval of the Everman ISD Board of Trustees, a foundation to support teaching and learning in the district was established as a not-for-profit entity in the State of Texas and granted tax-exempt status. EISD Foundation gifts were allowed as tax deductions to donors.

The Foundation Board membership currently consists of area business leaders, a representative of EISD trustees, Everman community representatives, Everman parents and teachers, high school administration and counselors, and district administrators. The Board of Directors meets quarterly in January, April, July, and October. The fiscal year is January 1 to December 31.

Since that first gift and continuing gifts from Alcon along with other generous individual gifts, the initial goal of $100,000 was achieved within months. The EISD Foundation continues to grow, funding students scholarships and planning for additional funding opportunities that will enhance teaching and learning in Everman ISD.
